Challenge: In the critical lead‑up to Brand USA Travel Week, a high‑profile event involving C‑suite executives and senior journalists, the European PR lead became unexpectedly unavailable. This created an immediate need for senior continuity to maintain the complex coordination required for high‑level stakeholder engagement and media relations. Brand USA requested my intervention based on my established expertise and ability to assume leadership at short notice.
Role: I was seconded as Head of European PR for Brand USA Travel Week, providing crisis‑response leadership and continuity across all PR activities. This included strategic oversight of the PR team and preparation for the CEO Summit, coordinating 50 DMO CEOs and senior journalists. I ensured the delivery of comprehensive briefing packs and schedules, and provided executive‑level facilitation throughout the event. I also supported Brand USA’s Chief Marketing Officer with research and speaking notes for her keynote address.
Outcome: Despite the last‑minute transition, the event ran smoothly and the CEO Summit was delivered to a high standard. C‑suite executives and journalists provided positive feedback on the quality of meetings and media opportunities, safeguarding Brand USA’s reputation and ensuring continuity of high‑stakes communications and executive support.
